What every URW 295 provides
The core tracked URW-295 specification includes an 8.65m five-section boom, an 8.41m maximum working radius and an approximate 8.8m maximum lifting height. Standard tracked machines are around 600mm wide when stowed, compared with approximately 690mm for the battery CBE and 750mm for the wheeled WBE.
The 2.9-tonne figure applies at a 1.4m radius. Capacity reduces as radius and boom extension increase; the published chart falls to 130kg at the maximum 8.41m radius with the outriggers fully extended. Every purchase should therefore be matched to the actual load, radius, hook height and available outrigger position.
2022 UNIC URW 295 CBE
With 928 recorded hours, this is the newest and lowest-hour machine in the group. Its rechargeable 48V battery provides fume-free operation at the point of use, while the tracked chassis is better suited than a wheeled crane to rough or uneven access routes. Published folded dimensions are approximately 2,720mm long, 690mm wide and 1,525mm high, with an unladen weight of about 2,350kg. It is the strongest starting point where low hours, battery power and tracked mobility are all priorities. Battery condition, charging time and expected duty cycle should be confirmed before purchase.
2018 UNIC URW 295 WBE
This 48V battery model has 1,488 recorded hours and uses low-marking wheels rather than tracks. It is aimed at suitable internal environments where floor protection and fume-free operation matter. At approximately 750mm wide, 2,730mm long and 1,560mm high when folded, it needs more access width than a standard tracked URW-295. The full route should be checked for thresholds, gradients, turning space and floor capacity. For finished indoor floors it is the clearest specialist choice; where the approach is loose or uneven, the tracked CBE is the better comparison.
2017 UNIC URW 295 CER stock 29C5601
This tracked machine has 2,458 recorded hours and is listed with petrol and LPG power. Its dual-fuel configuration may suit contractors working across varied sites, but LPG must not be treated as equivalent to battery-electric operation. Enclosed work still requires appropriate ventilation, controls and site approval. With the conventional tracked URW-295 footprint, this machine is a practical option where narrow access and fuel flexibility matter.
2017 UNIC URW 295 CER stock 29C5600
This petrol-powered tracked crane has 2,798 recorded hours. It offers the familiar narrow URW-295 format without an alternative power source that may not be needed for mainly external or suitably ventilated work. It has 340 more hours than the other 2017 CER, but hours alone do not determine value. Maintenance history, inspection findings, fitted equipment and price should decide the comparison.
2014 UNIC URW 295 CMER
The CMER has 2,837 recorded hours and combines petrol power with a listed 400V electric option. Petrol supports work away from a fixed supply, while mains-electric operation may be useful at a prepared work area with compatible power. Buyers should confirm the connection requirements, cable management and functions available in electric mode. This is the oldest and highest-hour machine in the group, so its value rests on whether the 400V capability solves a recurring site requirement.
2019 UNIC URW 295 CER stock 29C5843
With 2,242 recorded hours, this petrol and LPG machine is the newest and lowest-hour of the three CER models. It is the logical starting point for buyers wanting a conventional narrow tracked crane without moving to a fully battery-powered machine. Its later year and lower hours are useful advantages, although condition, service records, equipment and price remain more important than age alone.
How to choose
· Measure the route Check the narrowest opening, height, turns, thresholds and gradients. Getting through a doorway does not guarantee enough room to deploy the outriggers.
· Match the undercarriage to the surface Choose the WBE for appropriate finished floors and compare tracked machines for rougher access. Verify floor capacity, ground bearing pressure and outrigger point loads in every case.
· Choose the power source around the site Battery models provide zero exhaust emissions at the point of use. The CMER needs a suitable 400V supply for electric operation. Petrol and LPG use must follow ventilation and site rules.
· Use the load chart Supply the actual load weight, working radius, hook height and proposed outrigger position. Do not select a crane from the 2.9-tonne headline alone.
· Confirm the fitted equipment Hook blocks, searcher hooks, fly jibs, slew limitation and outrigger arrangements vary. Check what is included with the individual crane rather than relying on a general specification sheet.
· Inspect the whole machine Review service and inspection records, ropes, hook blocks, tracks or tyres, remote controls, safety systems and battery health where applicable.
